"Okay." He keeps a slower, but reasonable pace, the hard cement underneath his feet and the ridges in the sidewalk mark the passage of distance as his cane swings gently before him. To all appearances, he seems to be completely used to the length and weight of the cane as he walks along.

"Tell me about the things we pass. It will help with the sounds and smells."
