At the wheezing, Ichi turns his shoulders and raises the cane again, pointing his ear directly at The Shadow. The sound is very faint, but it's all that he needs to track his movements. Trying to take advantage of the sound before The Shadow can quiet it again, he charges forward boldly, not quite as low as before, and striking down with the 'blade' of the cane.
