"I have." She traces the rim with a fingertip. "I've done some research on the styles, and I'll take a look into some of the cultural norms before I set foot on the streets. It won't take long, but I don't want to walk around gawking like Margo at everything." A faint smile plays across her face. "Who knows, I might be able to instill some of that old-fashioned dedication in the younger agents if they see someone setting the example." Maybe it's not quite as off-business as it first appeared. This is not mere curiosity that's provoked the topic of discussion.
"I'll learn. I've adapted to the Nexus, I think I should be able to handle a future New York." Besides getting her out of The Chief's hat (heaven knows she'll be bored out of her mind between what few assignments she gets from him), it'll help her feel like she's trying to repay The Shadow for his help back home, and allow her to see how his world has developed. Immersion in this future, could allow her to gain that hindsight perspective that could help improve things in her own New York's future.
